I am Jean-Marc Langlois and I am a Senior and Mountain View Highschool. I value productivity and creativity.
I enjoy film, physics, and playing music. Some other hobbies I have are cooking, playing old video games, and weight lifting.
My experience at Freestyle as a whole has been extremely positive and has not only helped foster my creative skills, but also has pushed me to be a more mature, responsible adult.
Mr. Taylor and the film elective class have been very formative in these tender years, taking a more hands off approach to learning and teaching me how to learn on my own, letting me pursue what I want to focus on. The sheer size of the senior narrative project pushed me to learn how to stay organized, create and self-impose schedules, communicate professionally, and collaborate efficiently with peers.
Freestyle has been a great challenge for me, as it has pushed me outside my comfort zone time and again. Even if I failed to meet my goal, I’ve always gained valuable life experience and learned from my mistakes.
Looking back to how I was when I entered freestyle, I’ve gained so much experience and knowledge. My approach to filmmaking is so much different than before. I still look forward to filmmaking, even if it is not my primary focus, knowing I have the knowledge and potential to create something professional.
I am excited for the future, knowing I can conquer whatever is ahead, thanks to Freestyle Academy.
