Music Production
To kick off the Narrative 2 unit in Digital Media we wrote some film scores/music productions using Pro-Tools and Reason. My piece is very reminiscent of sci-fi scores and marching band and drum corps shows.
Learning Jquery
In order to learn more about coding and website design we dove into some coding and computer science using Adobe’s Dreamweaver. We learned about coding in javascript as well as HTML.
3D layered wood art
In Digital Media we learned about making 3d art using a laser cutter and illustrator. This is my partner and mine’s work of art.
The message we are attempting to convey is one about friends helping friends and knowing that they’ll always be there for you. When the desert that is life has got you down, starving, and thirsty to the point where you can’t go any further. There will be someone there to offer you a refreshing ice cold Crystal Pepsi so you can get back up on your feet. We also put in a message of diverse communities when we made the text in Spanish. Throughout your life you will be helped by people of all walks of life, whether it be a small act like offering you a delicious Crystal Pepsi or a bigger act like helping you get a Pepsi sponsorship so you can afford your next meal.
We were inspired to make this piece after noticing the growing popularity of cursed emojis and seeing the dedication of Pepsi fans on the internet. Cursed emojis is a phenomenon where people on the internet make mock emojis that are meant to look disturbed and hyper realistic. Due to the popularity of these at the moment, we decided to incorporate them into our wood art. The other influence was seeing how many Crystal Pepsi devotees there were on the internet. People on Ebay are selling 20 year old bottles of soda for hundreds of dollars and a handful of people are actually buying them. Now that’s commitment and we wanted to honor that commitment.
We valued the freedom with this project. We were given three choices on what we wanted to make and then from those three choices we basically got to make whatever we wanted. I really appreciate when we are given independence and autonomy on these assignments.
