Reflections Project Introduction

This Mandala project was about me, my beliefs and wants, and something that just pulls me into this world of creativity. Through this process, I found out objects that define “me.”

I value the time I was given to think about what my mandala would look like and what would be in it, reflecting my core value of structure. The process of choosing which object to put in and why that object specifically had me going on a spiral of thoughts.

My Personal Mandalas

I created this mandala in Adobe Illustrator, starting with templates I can now use for many more mandalas. Using an app that I have never used before was quite difficult and had many times where I had to start over, which again matches my core values of perseverance and the lotus flower in my black and white mandala, representing rebirth and the idea of starting over.

For this piece, I first thought about a flower that can represent me and my favorite word, “possibility.” The lotus flower in this piece represents rebirth; therefore, the endless possibilities it holds are a symbol for a new start.

Colored Mandala Sublimination Printed Colored Mandala

My colored Mandala represents the world of my imagination where I am free to express myself and imagine the countless scenarios. The pastel colors give my colored mandala a positive light, a bright and happy world of imagination.

This mandala-building video shows, step by step, how I made my black-and-white mandala using After Effects.

My final reflection for this project is that this was a nice project to let others learn more about my values and it heped me even find my values in the first place.
