Zenith

Introduction

The Zenith project is our last big project before leaving Freestyle. The definition of zenith is “the time at which something is most powerful or successful.” This is the point in our Freestyle careers in which we have learned everything we are going to learn in the 2 years at the program. This is the project where we get to take our skills & everything we have learned and create our own, individual project to discover and work on any topic of our choice.

My Zenith

Backstory

For my Zenith project, I decided to focus on film analysis. When I was applying to film school last fall, I was asked to write a film analysis for multiple applications. Throughout the process, I realized I had absolutely no idea how to write one. All of the resources and websites that I used to help guide me throughout my writing, were very confusing. I never found a clear outline to follow in order to write the most effective analysis paper. When the Zenith project came along, I thought it was the perfect opportunity to revisit my film analysis struggles and work until I felt confident in exactly how to write one.

End Product

Throughout this project, I researched the history of film analysis and the many different types of it. After I felt comfortable with my research, I watched & analyzed three films; The Incredibles, Die Hard and La La Land. Once I was done with my writing, I decided to take my project a step further. I decided to make a tutorial-like video in hopes of sharing all of the information that I had learned throughout my project.
