Self-Portrait

1/400 s, f1.2, ISO 3200

In this assignment of creating a self portrait, I wanted to showcase my artistic ability as well as a depiction of how I feel a lot of people see me. What an audience of this photo may not know is that I was wearing a pastel blue and green shirt; a metaphor for my bolder, in depth personality only the people closest to me see. Additionally, the usage of my shadow and the lines show a brighter spotlight, not on me, but my forward thinking big picture. Like a horizon, which is admittedly very corny, but very accurately depicts my focus on my future. I also feel like I’m a very deceptively closed off person seen in the black and white of the photo. The light source and shadow make it that this photo was originally taken black and white and required no colour correction in order to convey this message.
