Geometry
For the second photoblog of may, I had to take a picture that incorporated geometry. Keeping with the theme of spring, I took a picture of a fern. I always see geometry in plants and this fern is a great example of that.

I was tasked with taking a center frame portrait that exhibits loneliness. I chose to interpret the prompt in a comedic fashion so I took this portrait of Jessie. In her words, “a girl is never lonely when she has a diet coke”.

Balance In Holiday Traditions
1/50, f/2.8, ISO 800 I was tasked with showing balance using my family’s holiday traditions. I juxtaposed a menorah with some religious scripture. Though my family is not very religious, Hannukah is a time of year where we are most in touch with our Jewish culture.

Leading Lines
f/1.8, 1/121, ISO 400 Leading Lines are used in photo composition to show movement or bring the audience’s attention to a specific focal point. In this case, the trees are leading our eyes to the top of the photo, while the yellow divider leads our eyes to the left side of the photo.
