The doll is wearing traditional Korean clothing called ‘Hanbok’. Before you get married, the colors of the fabric are very vibrant with pink, blue, purple, green, etc. However, after you get married, the colors become muted and there are not as many. Koreans wear Hanbok during major holidays such as New Year and Thanksgiving, during weddings, a baby’s first birthday celebration called ‘Dohl’, and more. The colorful fans are used in a traditional Korean dance called ‘Buchaechum’ (Fan Dance).
