Layered Art
“Luna” is an art piece based off of my world building pitch presentation in English. My world building project was set in a world where we have colonized other planets and destroyed earth. There is a lot of consumerism and overpopulation. However in all of this there is one safe haven in a moon of Saturn which the main character tries to get to. This art piece is depicting that moon of Saturn.

This project made me think of a world beyond the world I know. To start, I knew that I wanted rainbows to be apart of it somehow, I envisioned someone siting on top of a cloud. To make this more creative I started to think about what, other than a human, could be on this could. This is how I came across the idea of a mermaid. The mermaid I chose (from the live action the little mermaid) seemed to be looking at something. That’s why I decided to add some butterflies for her to look at. Overall this project helped me to be able to learn how to combine different thoughts into one surrealist world.
