Phenakistoscope
A phenakistoscope is an early form of animation. In my Phenakistoscope I wanted to explore movement of the human body. So then during the sketching process I kept in mind how I wanted to color it. I wanted to focus on the silhouette of the person, and ended up on red and white. Material wise I used a combination of red pencil, pens and markers. I animated the tent and person on ones and the inner most circle on twos.
Flip Books
When I thought of the idea of making a flip book that would take place in space, I did not think of the implications. I inked over 70 pages, having to go back multiple times to add more pages in between to make the animation more smooth.
My second flip book I also had a lot of fun with. I was really hype fixated on red riding hood at the time and that really inspired my product. When making it I used ink and pencils to achieve a more story book like effect.
