I chose to photograph 2 bagels sitting on my kitchen counter for the new beginnings prompt, where we were told to find circular patterns in every day objects. I chose this because it reminded me of one of my favorite movies, “Everything Everywhere All at Once” where bagels represent a nihilistic perspective on life and the world. I thought it fit this prompt because although bagels represent the meaninglessness of life, the bagels brought me joy. They also connect at their sides, representing how when one thing ends, another begins.
