Zenith

Introduction

For my Zenith project, I decided to focus on the differences between theatre acting and film acting. I chose this idea because I have a passion for theatre and wanted to spread my knowledge about it. I have been doing theatre since elementary school and always feel happy when on stage, through this I could spread my joy of something to others.

To research this project I looked up differences between theatre and film acting for the many factors that go into acting for both forms of entertainment. This ranged from audio to whether or not you need to cheat out to how it is being portrayed. A lot of the other knowledge came from my own personal experience and what I have noticed.

I worked individually on this project on how I wanted to be put together and what should be included. But I had to work with others in order to figure out a good time to record other people’s work. I wanted to get footage of a theatre performance so I reached out to the MVHS theatre teacher asking if I could record his class and if I could when a good time would be. Once I got to the class, it was figured out who wanted and not wanted to be on camera. For the Film acting aspect of the project,x I had the opportunity to go on the set of one of my classmates. This gave me the chance to record the behind the scenes of a film set, the instructions that were given to the actors, and how the camera needed to be set up. I would say this was successful because I was able to capture the footage I wanted to include in the final project.

I think I was able to improve on Visual Literacy and Risk Taking. I did this by being able to use the tools around me to advance learning when it comes to the two different types of acting. The skill that I improved the least on was productivity because I procrastinated on a lot of the work but managed to get it in on time by staying up into the late hours of the night. Through these experiences I will be able to learn how to manage my time better and think of new and creative ways to record something.

I feel like I ignited my own passion because of how I was able to create a project about something I truly care about. I had the opportunity to talk about acting and my personal experiences I have had throughout high school. I was able to create a successful Freestyle project because I was able to make something I was passionate about and knew a lot about.

If I were to do the project again something I would have done differently is work with someone else on the project. With this we probably could have made a short film. Or I would have created a short film on my own. I would have done this differently because I enjoy telling stories and using my imagination.

A meaningful thought that I would like to share is that it is important to create something you are proud of and passionate about. You would be much more encouraged to create the project if it is something you are interested in and passionate about.
