Zenith Project

The Zenith project was the “ultimate” freestyle project, utilizing the skills that we have acquired over the last two years in order to explore our passion.  The goal of my Zenith project was to write, compose, and produce a song in a digital audio workstation (DAW) called Ableton Live.  I decided to use a DAW that I had never used because of the music I was creating.  Ableton’s recording capabilities, ease of MIDI sequencing, and diverse set of default effects make it great for producing EDM and pop, and is used by many producers today.  This project was a huge leap forward from my explorations project, in which I wrote and recorded vocals and guitar for a song in ProTools.  The resources at Freestyle allowed me to follow my passion and create something that I am proud of.

Here is the song that I produced in Ableton Live as apart of my Zenith.  It contains thirteen audio and MIDI tracks.  Drum sounds were sampled from Splice.com, and the synth sounds were designed in Xfer Record’s Serum.
