For the music recording project we were tasked with finding two experienced musicians and bringing them into the Freestyle recording studio to record them using Pro Tools. I recorded music with my partner, Sammay, in the recording studio, and I truly enjoyed the experience of working on this project! We started with a practice session, where we got familiar with using all the equipment. We learned how to hook up the instruments, practiced turning the sound on and off, recording, setting up a project, and communicating with the musicians. It was an exciting opportunity to simulate a professional environment and gain hands-on experience in recording and producing music.
Our Muscians
During our project we were working with two local muscians Danny and Peter who both go to Mountain View. Both Danny amd Peter are very expirenced at playing the guitar and bass. Also they are in guitar club at school! They were great choices for our project because they understand how to play the instruments and have experience recording their music. It was a great experience, and I would definitely want to try recording music again.
They decided to play “Boulevard of Broken Dreams” by Greenday on their instruments. I enjoyed the song, and they did a great job collaborating with one another. While editing, we decided to use Pro Tools to further enhance the audio.

Music Recording of “Boulvard of Broken Dreams”:
We both had a lot of fun while working on this project with Danny and Peter. It was a super cool and unique opportunity to be able to record with two very talented muscians and it was an awesome learning expirence as well. Sammay and I both play on the Mountain View Highscool lacrosse team with Danny and after one practice we reached out to him and told him about this project and I have known Peter for a long time and we have been friends since middle school. We enjoyed our first practice session with Mr. Flo because we learned how to use all of the equipment, practiced how to communicate properly with our musicians, and overall got more comfortable with the recording studio. Overall, I am excited with our results for this project and very proud of the final result we were able to get.
