About Me

Hi, I’m Samay, a Mountain View High School junior enrolled in the Freestyle program. Beyond the classroom, I find my passion in the exhilarating world of sports, particularly lacrosse and basketball. I enjoy spending quality time with my furry companion, playing and bonding with my beloved dog when I’m not on the court. My interests extend to entrepreneurship, and I’m always eager to delve into the intricacies of business. Another facet of my creativity shines through my love for creating digital art. As this school year unfolds, I aspire to balance my academics, sports, and personal interests while fostering a strong sense of determination and growth. My expectations for this year are to excel academically, refine my athletic skills, deepen my understanding of business, and continue expressing myself through digital art.

Art Reflection

In producing my Art Reflection Video, my purpose was to explore and articulate the powerful contrast in Anselm Kiefer’s “Margarethe” and how it resonates with my personal reflections on history and human nature. I focused on the tension between the golden straw and the dark background, which symbolizes both beauty and suffering, to deepen my understanding of our shared human experience. My process involved connecting the painting’s imagery with my own life, prompting me to reflect on the importance of compassion, creativity, and hope amidst adversity. Ultimately, the video allowed me to express how art can challenge us to look beyond superficial differences and find meaning in both the light and dark aspects of life.
