The Music Recording Project gives me the opportunity to step into the role of a professional recording engineer, collaborating with local musicians in a fully equipped studio. Participants coordinate recording sessions, handle technical setup in Pro Tools, and refine raw recordings through mixing and mastering techniques. By the end of the project, I will have produced a polished musical track while gaining hands-on experience in the art of audio engineering.

Reflection
Ryan and I had a great time working on this project with Danny and Peter. It was an incredibly fun and unique experience to record with two very talented musicians, and we learned a lot throughout the process. Both Sammay and I play on the Mountain View High School lacrosse team with Danny, so after one of our practices, we reached out to him about joining the project. I’ve also known Peter since middle school, and we’ve been friends for years.
Our first practice session with Mr. Flo was especially helpful—we learned how to use the recording equipment, how to communicate effectively with our musicians, and got much more comfortable in the studio environment. Overall, I’m really proud of what we accomplished and excited about how the final product turned out.
