Aging

1/8 sec; f/5.0; ISO: 400

As plants age, their cells undergo a process known as senescence, where they gradually lose their ability to function optimally. This leads to a decline in chlorophyll production, the pigment responsible for the vibrant green color of leaves, and an increase in the production of compounds such as tannins, which contribute to the browning effect. Ultimately, this aging process results in the characteristic light brown color seen in aging plant tissues.
