In this photo, I express the rule of thirds by placing the candle to the left of the photo and keeping everything else black. To take this photo, I turned the lights all the way down and lit the candle with my left hand as I took the photo with my right hand. To get it stable, I balanced the camera on the table. Since the flame kept flickering, I got a lot of very different-looking cool shots.
