Flowers

sweet autumn clematis

There is a street that I walk past often where there are rows of these flowers. They are so beautiful and they smell really good, it always makes me happy to see them. When I woke up today, these were the first flowers I saw that caught my eye. In this image, the aperture is F10, shutter speed is 1/195, and ISO100.

Stranger

a girl in a white dress with pink and blue lights with a hat shadowing her face.

Who is she under the shaded hat? What lies behind those eyes? This image is a stranger because you can’t see majority of her face, just her dress and the hat in the colorful lighting in a dark room. In this image, the aperture is F5.6, the shutter speed is 1/160, and ISO 640.

Aging

an aging flower
Living things don’t stay young forever.

You can see that this flower has grown and blossomed, but with its lack of water, the petals have started decaying. At one point, the petals were very healthy and beautiful. I pulled the flower out of its bunch and placed in among these fairy lights so there was soft lighting and you’re able to see the details of the petals. In this image, shutter speed is 1/32, F4.5, and ISO is 800.

Shadow

fish swimming around in circles

To show shadows, I took a picture of these fish where the light was placed above them, so you could see their shadow below them. The fish are all toward the top of the photo in a different color blue then the background, and the shadow are a dark grey color below the fish. What I find very interesting about this photo is that the shadows of the fish tells a different story than the swimming fish. For this image, my aperture was f4.5, shutter speed was 1/32, and ISO1600.

New Beginnings

my sister and I reading our books in Egypt.
across the world

This photo was taken on New Years day, my sister and I are reading our books on our cruise across the Nile River. In Egypt, I didn’t have phone service, so all I was able to do was read. Thats when my views on reading completely changed. Since my trip to Egypt, I enjoy reading and it’s taught me a lot because the authors are so much wiser than anyone I talk to on my phone. In this photo, the aperture is F2.8, shutter speed 1/60, and ISO 200.

Love Story

my mom enjoying her home

My parents rebuilt our house about 10 years ago, designing and decorating everything on their own. My mom really has an eye for detail, so since we’ve had this house, she’s constantly adding more decorations, plants, and pillows. Every single thing you see in this photo, she picked herself. Every morning when she wakes up, she tells me how grateful she is for our beautiful home. In this photo, the aperture is F4.5, shutter speed is 1/40, and ISO200.

Self-Portrait

A picture of me in my room with a painting of Rick from a show called Rick & Morty covering my face. The painting over my face is filled with a bunch of crazy patterns.
Rick with some crazy patterns

For this weeks assignment, I chose to cover my face with a canvas I painted of a character from a show I like; Rick from Rick & Morty. This image takes place in my room because my room is a big space that really expresses me, and it’s somewhere where I spend a lot of time. The canvas I covered my face with shows both my artistic side and my crazy side, because the fact that I painted it, and because this painting expresses what my thoughts in my head are like sometimes.
