Symmetry Landscape
This photo is capturing a beach I visited in Monterey recently and it’s beautiful blue waters. The landscape is wide with no people in the scene to distract from the water.
Mood
Again, the B&W editing is supposed to set the tone more. The mood/vibe the photo is generating is independence and intelligence. With the subject dressed up formally and surrounded by books, we gain respect for her. It’s not a welcoming photo, more powerful.
Rules of Thirds Motion
What’s kind of nice about this photo, is that it’s a candid, but also hides the figures face, while including their whole body in the frame. The subject is headed towards the frame that has empty space, making us wonder what is over there. What’s so exciting over there?
Self-Portrait
In the photo, I made sure the angle positioned the book over the subjects face. The black and white filter adds to the mystery. The purpose of the photo is to inspire curiosity. Who is she? Where is she? What is she really doing? This was taken impulsively while at the farm a few months ago.
