For this faceless self-portrait, I hid my face behind a bouquet of LEGO flowers. Real flowers are beautiful, but they wilt after a few days. LEGO flowers are different because they’re built piece by piece, and they last. I chose them because I see myself the same way: who I am isn’t just how I look, it’s what I build over time through hard work, the people I care about, and the things I create. By covering my face, I wanted the viewer to focus on what I’m holding instead of what I look like, because I think what we choose to build says more about us than our faces do.
