Pure Bliss: Short Story

In my Freestyle English class I learned to understand the nature of creating a comic, ad creating a story that will interest my reader. I was assigned to create two stories of my choice. The first story didn’t turn out as good as I planned it would be. Although my second story was a success because it has a heart warming ending that gave me the idea of the title of my story; Pure Bliss. After we create our story we take it apart and create it into a screenplay, who is who, what is what, and so on

It was a bit of a challenge for me at first because how to break a story apart and turn it into a script? Then again it was a lot of fun to do and I really enjoyed it. After I created the screenplay my teacher assigned me to create a comic of my story that way it will be easier to visualize the story concept, and it will be easier for me to understand what I need to animate for my animation. This was my favorite part of the Narrative project because I was able to create the character’s that were in my head.

A sweet summer breeze echoed through his eardrums. The young boy sat beside the old maple tree near by lake arrow. The gradual sound of screams and laughter soothe his withering mind. The festival grew bigger each year, more rides for terror and joy, and more memories to savor. But something seemed different that evening. The sound of a distorted sob knocked on his earlobes. He spots a girl crying, slowly, he walks towards the sobbing girl. He sees a white ticket floating on the shore. He took pity of her sorrow, and offers his ticket to her. The young girl smiles with glee as she hugs the young boy tight. Happy and overjoyed she grabs his hand leading him to the festival.

The young boy trembles whenever he is around her presence. He couldn’t help but notice her beautiful tender white skin that glow in the dim lighting. The smell of her sweet scented cherry lips brought back the memories of his grandparents farm. He led the girl towards a booth; buying three balls, before he can throw his first ball he flexes his scanning arms towards the girl, stretching every part of his body. He puffs up his chest, brings his arm near to his back and throws the first ball with all his might.

It’s a miss. Gripping his hand, he fiercely grabs the next ball and accidentally hits a little girl next to him, without even realizing. The little girl began to cry as the young boy ignored her pain while furiously throwing the ball towards the pyramid bottles. “Darn It!!!”He shouted. The young boy stomps the ground, yelling at the little girl for messing him up.“Why don't you just shut up!!!” he scream’s.

The little girl kicks his knee and runs off, as for his new friend, she walks away swaying her head side to side like an empty swing. The young boy follows her, but stops as he watches the young girl walking towards an older boy who comforts the little girl that kicked him.The older boy held a giant teddy bear, and offers it to the young girl, as she smiles and embraces him tightly. The young boy started to cry, he dashes towards the lake, plopping down beside the old tree, like wet paper.

Sighing to himself, he took a flat rock and threw it towards the lake, a miss. He grabs another rock, he misses again. Furious he grabs the final rock and flings the rock carelessly as he watches in amazement; the rock skipped multiple times until it finally plopped into the water. “ Nice toss!!” as the young girl walks away, the young boy smiles contently to himself.
