Introduction
For my documentary I chose to write about disparities of representation in media. I was drawn to this subject because as a child I often found portrayals of ethnicity and race to be superficial and I wanted to address the possible repercussions that this causes in children.
English and Digital Media Production
The Documentary began in English where we brainstormed and drafted our topics and articles. Originally I started out with an article on solely fandom spaces and internet culture, through the guidance of a peer I aimed for a more specific aspect of fandom spaces that makes it relevant to current day issues and includes reasons as to why people should care about it. As we drafted the article I felt a little overwhelmed by just the scale of the topic but I eventually found a through line in my writing to make it more cohesive. Finally through extensive revisions and peer feedback was I able to finalize my article. andget it greenlighted so that I could move onto the indesign formatting

Reflection
I found this project to be very full filling, even despite the many revisions and re-drafting I had to do, I still enjoyed the work I put into this. As this topic is very personal to me, it was cathartic in the way that I was able to address social issues that are often overlooked in the entertainment industry and have even become a norm.
