The photonarrative assignment was to take two different pictures that somehow related to form a story. A
diptych. This time, our teacher gave us a list of words, and we had to choose two off the list, and form a
story based on those two words. To help the audience uderstand what is going on in the diptych, we
made an artist statement that explained everything.
Sometimes you feel free. But if you don't know where you
are, you're not exactly free. You think that being free will
give you more freedom, but freedom can also be
overwhelming too. I chose the apple in the first part of the
diptych, to represent freedom, and peace. Then there is a
gingerbread man in a pile of sugar cookies. It is
somewhere where he was trying to escape to, but he just doesn't belong there.
