I Believe

I believe in the power of a smile.
I believe in warm fur, a wet nose, and big brown eyes that are always there to greet me at the door.
I believe that cultures should not be experienced, but lived.
I believe in chocolate chips; milk, semi, and bitter, in pancakes, cookies, or straight from the bag.
I believe in moonshadows and darkness, the chirp of crickets and the whispering of the night breeze.
I believe in going to bed early and waking up late.
I believe that what might have been is a waste of time.
I believe in what might yet be.
