Introduction

The Zenith project is the culmination of all the skills we have learned at Freestyle. We utilize the technology, time, and ideas we have access to in order to create something that we can be very proud of to show for our exit from Freestyle.

I decided to write a feature-length screenplay for my Zenith project and shoot a single scene from this screenplay. Ever since I started film, I have always been interested in screenwriting. I wanted to write something based on some of my favorite TV shows and movies such as Netflix’s Love, Master of None, and Ibiza.

I have never tried to write so many pages of a screenplay. The most I have written is about 12 pages for a screenplay, and writing a full feature-length screenplay was a great challenge for me. However, learning the important parts of screenwriting from my film teacher and speaking to him about how to write easily helped me on my journey to complete my screenplay.

Process

Here are several photos showing my Zenith progress:

I first began by Zenith project by doing research on what made screenplays interesting and captivating.
I then moved on to actually writing the screenplay and started developing my characters.
As I continued through my screenplay, I added more characters and entered the second act of my screenplay/story. I made sure to use the foundational research I did from Save the Cat in order to know how to best write the screenplay.
As I wrapped up the screenplay, I began thinking of which scene from it to record.
This is the scene that I shot from my screenplay.
