This is the picture I took for this week’s photo challenge.

This week we were challenged to take a photograph using the elements of composition, and express a new and interesting viewpoint.  I went for a low shot of some bushes and a tree, because I thought it would be cool to have a smaller viewpoint. It turned out looking like a sort of forest, and I kind of like that feel.

This is the image I took for this weeks photo challenge.

This week we were challenged to use storytelling in a film noir type of image. I took this picture while we were driving, and made it in black and white to match the film noir aesthetic, which I think I did well. The black trees contrast the clouds and the sky well, and I like how it turned out. It kind of tells a story with the way the clouds almost look like a. ghost or a comet.

Work

This is the picture I took for this weeks prompt.

This week’s prompt was to be inspired by something related to work. I went to San Francisco with my family and we went to Chinatown, and I took photographs of the stores and the like. I think this has a connection to work because for many of the store owners, this is their jobs. I really enjoyed the trip and felt inspired by the sights, so I am pretty satisfied with the picture.

Color Theory

This is the photo I decided to take for this week’s challenge.

This week we were asked to incorporate composition into an image utilizing color theory, and so I decided to take an image while we went on a weekend trip to six flags, when we were walking back to our car in the evening. I noticed the beautiful sunset and I snapped a picture of the landscape. It looks really good and I’m very proud of it, especially with the reflection. It’s pretty to look at.

Modern Convenience

This is the photo I took for the week’s challenge.

This week we were challenged to tell a story through taking a photograph of a modern appliance. I chose to take a picture of a refrigerator, since I feel it is something I take advantage of often, where I can keep fresh and cool food. I like the angle of this photo, I feel that it is interesting, and that the picture is unified by the single gray color, though there is a bit of yellow at the edge.

The Elements

This is the photo I took for this week’s photo challenge.

This week we were prompted to take a picture of one of several elements, including fire, earth, wind, spirit and rain. Since it was raining, there was a lot of puddles on the ground and I felt inspired to take a photo of that. I think it looks really cool, especially since it reflects the sky and the clouds, and it looks almost like a mirror. Either way, I’m really satisfied with how this one turned out, and I think I implemented the inspiring element well enough.

Rule of Odds

This is the picture I took this week to answer the prompt.

This week’s prompt was based in composition, and asked us to use the rule of odds to take a picture of an urbanscape or architecture. While I am not entirely satisfied with this photo, I think I did somewhat answer the prompt effectively in taking a picture of an urbanscape area. The bike is alone and sticks out, which is where I would say I utilized the rule of odds, and it highlights the bike since everything else in the image is in pairs.

Seasons

This is the image I took to answer the prompt.

This week had a storytelling prompt where we were supposed to take a picture relating to the changing seasons. It has been a cold, rainy fall, so I wanted to illustrate that with the picture I took. I took a photograph of several autumn leaves on the ground in a puddle. I really liked the colors, and wanted to include the rainy aspect so the ground and lighting gives off a chilly vibe and the puddle helps demonstrate the season, while also appearing like glass. I’m pretty satisfied with the photograph.

Gratitude

This is the picture I took for the challenge

Leading up to thanksgiving, we were asked to incorporate the idea of gratitude and take a picture of something or someone we were thankful for. I was somewhat creative and looked for a home symbol, and used a remote control. I am grateful that I have someplace to call home, and that I have a lot of resources. I like how the arrow points to it and directs focus to it.

Rule of Thirds Emotion

This is the photograph I took for the challenge

This week’s challenge was a composition challenge, where we were asked to take an image using the rule of thirds and conveying an emotion. I saw an opportunity and took a picture while walking home. think that my picture follows the rule and conveys emotion successfully, one that is ominous. I think that I incorporated photography skills well.
