My Inspiration for this project was to incorporate parts of space into a mandala, making that the theme. I also wanted to do something that would be a good gift and liked by not just me. The process of making the mandala was very satisfying and surprisingly unchallenging despite how complex the final result looks. If I were to do this again I would have done one with more shapes and geometric designs. I am happy with how It turned out in the end.
Cosmic Balance – Black and White Mandala
In the creation of “Cosmic Balance,” a monochrome mandala meticulously crafted using Adobe Illustrator, my inspiration was drawn from two awe-inspiring celestial events that left me awed. The moon and the ethereal meteor shower I recently witnessed served as the guiding lights for this project, infusing it with the majesty and wonder of the cosmos.
This artistic journey led me to profound personal growth, both in my technical skills within the realm of Illustrator and in my creative daring. The project provided a unique platform for me to experiment with a diverse array of brushes, thereby expanding my proficiency and confidence in utilizing this digital medium. If I were to revisit this artwork, I would remove the clouds, allowing the central elements of the mandala to shine, and better uphold the intended atmosphere.
Splash of the Cosmos – Colored Mandala
During the course of this project, I encountered a significant challenge in finding an appropriate color palette that harmonized with the intended theme and overall aesthetics of the piece. My primary struggle revolved around mastering the clipping mask function, which was key in adding color into the intricacies of the mandala. Regrettably, my goals for achieving a higher level of intricacy and detail in the coloring process were slowed down by the technical difficulties I faced, ultimately leaving me pressed for time and unable to fulfill my creative vision to its fullest potential.
Laser Engraved Mandala
Creating this engraved mandala on a wooden pizza board has been a profoundly gratifying experience for me as an artist. While I’ve always reveled in the process of crafting art, there’s an unparalleled sense of fulfillment in witnessing my creative endeavors take on a tangible, functional form. It’s a remarkable realization of my artistic journey, reminding me that art isn’t just about creating beauty but also about making it a meaningful part of our lives.
