Warmth
When I thought of warmth, I first thought of fire. I didn’t really have a lot of access to fire, so I settled for the next best thing: light. This photo was taken at festival celebrating all the holidays that are related to lights, including the Chinese Lantern Festival, Diwali, and Christmas. I think there is also something to be said about the warmth that also comes with celebrating those holidays.
Mood Inspiration
The day that I took this picture, I was feeling pretty tired and just desperately wanted to curl up on a couch with a book and a blanket. I decided to photograph something that I thought represented that feeling of calm peace.
Rule of Thirds Motion
This picture was taken at a fire dance I watched. It was really difficult to get a good picture with the darkness of the surrounding area and the brightness of the fire. In the end, the shutter speed was really slow to let enough light in addition. This also left a trail of fire where the dancer moved the torch which I thought was really cool and embodied the motion prompt well.
Self Portrait
I chose this picture to represent me. I have been compared to a pineapple before as I can be slightly prickly, but sweet on the inside, though it does take some time and effort to get there sometimes (just like cutting a pineapple takes a lot of arm strength).
