Introduction

For the humor project, I decided to work with Yankun Zhang for it. We discussed using facetime to decide what kind of humor video we could product, and we discussed about the actual story we are going to tell. We watched many humor comedy and funny videos on youtube to find things that would inspire us, and think of what were some funny moments that had happened in our daily life. These funny moments are actually just some funny situation moments, so it seems to be kind of short, and also we didn’t really talk a lot in the video, but just actually acting and showing the funny situation. Even though it’s short, but we still think it could make you laugh a little…maybe.

Something that challenged us in this project production is acting. Yankun and I does not good act acting so good so we shot our scene part many times and then last pick the most perfect one for the scene we were shooting. We also having some problems in video production, which challenged us for editing our different scenes together, but we still figured it out.

Script

Scene 1 When you are in hurry but the receptionist is not
When you are sick too bad.
The hospital receptionist types slowly.
When the flight cancel and you are urgent to change the flight ticket,
The airport receptionist types slowly and smiles elegantly.

Scene 2 The book of answers
A girl asks a question to a book of answers, “Will I grow taller?  Will I grow taller? Will I grow taller?” 
Then she opens the book randomly to find the answer
The answer is “ridiculous.”

Scene 3 Extension
Student: “ Hi, professor, can I ask an extension for my essay?”
Professor banteringly repeats the question: “Can I get an extension for my essay?”
The student tries to say something.
Professor interrupts: “ That is a ‘no.’ bi—-! ”

Reflection

In this project, I learned about how to act more natural for a situation I’m acting, and I learned how to negotiate and work with partner to produce a video even though we couldn’t meet together. I also learned that to show a funny story and be humorous is not an easy thing to do, you need confidence for your joke and you need to act and show your funny story very naturally to make the audience laugh a lot.
