Narrative

In Web we needed to create an animation using Adobe After Effects. This was really difficult for me but I finally got through it and I'm pretty proud of the final product. After Effects is pretty cool, you can do a lot of sick things if you know what you're doing. Unfortunately, I am not as well versed in AfterEffects as one could be. That in mind I wanted to be able to complete an animation and not have it look completely awful which is why I decided to combine mediums in my animation--I used drawings I did in illustrator as well as photographs I took. I often combine mediums in my artwork because it is a style that I prefer, but I also thought that not having to draw every background I needed for my animation might save me some time--time I would need to figure out other aspects of AfterEffects, such as how to get noise to work, or how to sync up your scenes just right, or make things move a certain way.

The same idea carries on to my web design. I have trouble crafting websites so I decided to keep it a little simple. I thought it also worked stylistically though, because all of my projects for the Narrative unit are rather rough and sarcastic. I am not a jolly person---I'm sort of happily melancholic, so it seems a nice fit.

Special thanks to Juan Nava, my musical guest star.

Php is about creating a website on the server end not the user end. php stands for hypertext preprocessor. This unit my peers and I at Freestyle Academy learned more about how to develop a website using php as opposed to html which is about creating a website on the user end not the server end of a website. Php is pretty cool if you understand it, which I don't think I do entirely but it has been fun trying to figure it out and working with talented folks to figure it out.
