My name is Chloe Outten, and I attend Mountain View High School with a dual enrollment in Freestyle Academy of Communication Arts and Technology. At Freestyle, I am enrolled in the film program where we learn to shoot, edit, and create various kinds of films.
Outside of school, I work at Hyperspace Arcade, where I host kids’ birthday parties. My core values are creativity, non-conformity, and compassion. I believe that you should always express yourself and never be afraid to be who you truly are. I carry these values with me through everything I do, and always try to be my most authentic self.
I am passionate about learning and giving back to me community through volunteering and outreach. In my free time, I love to spend time with my friends and family as well as meeting new people. I chose to become a Freestyle Academy student because I wanted to explore my creative side and join a community of peers that values artistry. I am extremely interested in learning about different forms of media and how to create them. Furthermore, I love everything film-related and really enjoy making my own short films.

Exit
I was inspired by this image of the sunset at the beach because sunsets represent a day coming to a close. With my junior year truly coming to an end, it made me reflect on such a special year I have had. My first year at Freestyle has been an adventure, with both reward and…

Flowers
During the spring, beautiful flowers start to bloom. These flowers I found particularly beautiful, and they showcase different hues of pink. I liked how the flowers seem to be reaching out towards each other, and they are so similar yet different. The flowers had similar structures to them, but they were shaped differently and had…

Stranger
If you look closely at this image, you can see several people who climbed to the top of this structure, and they are sitting and standing on the side of it. This was during a festival, and while I don’t know their story, I could guess that they were seeking thrills and adventure, knowing that…

Angles
This picture uses angles to only show my sister’s legs while she is doing a headstand, and the top of the palm tree. The park in San Francisco was actually packed with people; she wasn’t by herself at all. But by utilizing the hill that was in front of her and specifically angling the camera…

Serenity
Serenity to me means spring; during the cool months of spring, especially in other states, flowers start to bloom. The trees turn pretty hues of pink and yellow; people leave their houses and start to take morning walks. The flowers’ sweetness graces everyone’s noses as people walk around sidewalks with a slight breeze. To me,…

Aging
At first glance, some may wonder why this photograph of the city represents aging, but the city actually encapsulates it. The distant background shows new and old buildings, providing shelter for both young and old. The palm trees took years and years to grow, and the people sitting on the lawn have all grown up…

Negative Space
I decided to capture this image of this structure because of its unique and intricate architecture and colorful designs. I feel that the empty space of just the blue sky around it allows people to solely focus on the beauty of the building that was built so many years ago. The clear sky seems to…

Shadow
This image portrays two people who have just finished a long, strenuous day of hiking. It shows a dad and his daughter exploring Yosemite on a hiking trip, and their first activity of the day is fishing. The shadow of the man on the left also includes a fishing pole, and they are hoping to…

New Beginnings
50 mm, ISO 400, f1.8, 1/60s I recently went on a trip to Paris, where I captured this picture of the Art Nouveau stained-glass dome at Galeries Lafayette Haussmann. I was very grateful to be able to travel with my parents and capture an image of this unique piece of art. The design and intricacies…

Center Frame Portrait
50 mm, ISO 500, f2.0, 1/60s This is a picture I took of the Eiffel Tower in Paris. I was lucky enough to be able to see it in person, lit up at night, and captured this image of the tower and the onlookers. The contrast of the people with the large, imposing tower creates…
