Before animating it is best to have a strong idea of what each scene and transition of your final animation will look like. One of the first steps to create my final animation—Smack Talk— was to create an animatic. An animatic is a picture-by-picture photo slideshow made up of concept drawings and audio. By using an animatic, I can get a better idea about how I should time transitions between scenes. For my animatic I took my graphic novel that I created in English, then scanned it into Photoshop, and finally sequenced the pictures in Flash. Overall, making an animatic definitely helped speed up the production process in Flash because I had a sense of what each scene would look like.
