Photo of me in Panama

Hello there! My name is Devon and this is my Self-Portrait website! This website barely begins to describe who I am, but it allows you a glimpse at who I am. On this website you can see what I created in WebAudio, English and Design during the Self-Portrait unit.

On each page you can find part of the answer to the question “Who am I?” The music for this website was created in GarageBand using loops. I designed my buttons in Photoshop. The website was created in Dreamweaver. These are all part of who I am because they are what I chose to represent me.

On many of my pages you can hear a recording of me reading my artist statement for a project or reading the project itself. Some of the applications I used in putting this website together are Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Dreamweaver, GarageBand, Lightroom, and Adobe Flash. I am still learning how to use many of these applications and figuring out all I can do with them. I created my podcasts in Flash. For my second podcast I was able to learn new things such as how to fade one image into another using keyframes. In Dreamweaver I learned how to put an image in as my website background instead of a single color. This background image better fits my website theme. My buttons are rollover button using double image sprites, so that they change when you mouse over them. In order to make the basics of my website uniform I used a template. This means that some things are the same on every page based on the template, but there are editable regions so you can make each page unique.

While I did run into some difficulties, such as my buttons not going on the correct sides, creating this website was interesting. As I begin to better understand the applications I am using I am able to create more unique products, and it is more fun. This is my first multi-page website. Creating it was stressful and exciting. I hope you enjoy and can see how much work I put into it!

Making Connections with Other People Makes me Feel Genuine

In English we had to create a unique personal statement. Using this statement we created a media piece, poem, and a personal essay. My personal statement was "Making connections with other people makes me feel genuine." In WebAudio we had to put our poem on a background. I used Photoshop to create the visual aspect of my poem that you see below.
