Zenith

Intro~

The Zenith project allows students to use the skills they have developed in the past two years to create their ultimate freestyle project. Full creative freedom with in their field. This project allowed me to make a project I am truly passionate about. I have always been interested in film styles, and an extremely stylist form of film was in the silent era.

Charlie Chaplin…Fatty Arbuckle…Buster Keaton. These are the three names Mr. T gave me to start my journey. I learned about the jokes, techniques, and characters common in films of the time.

Originally I hoped to make a silent film with a similar story line. I developed a story and gathered actors and a setting. Following the shelter in place I redeveloped my idea to fit the times, and created a PSA about quarantine.

There have been few experiences in my time at Freestyle were I produced a solo film, while collaboration is very important in film, doing projects alone challenges me to work on my personal techniques, rather than allowing a partner to fill in the skills I lack.

This project required all the skills I have learned with the exception of dialogue and on set audio. My product being such a simple film, allowed me to work hard on the little features that make it stand out.
