Zenith was a big one. This unit stretched me to ends I had never reached before. A capstone project that ended Freestyle on the most perfect note.

We were first introduced to Zenith in our design class. Although the day I was introduced to it was also the day we were expected to have an idea ready to propose. By the time it was my turn to share, I had come up with the idea to paint a mural in my room on a complete whim.

Okay maybe it was’t a total whim, but a haste decision at best. I had been planning to do something on this wall in my room because it was the only one I had yet to touch. I painted two of my walls a couple years ago but it was a pink and grey color scheme that I was starting to get extremely sick of. (Especially because I had started spending immense amount of hours in my room.) I painted my closet doors blue and purple one night when I had literally nothing better to do. So my goal was to come up with an idea that would tie together all the colors in my room and give it an accent wall (if that is even what you can call it.)

This whole project was no one’s but ours, but we were instructed to set a calendar to keep us on track and allow Ms. P to get an idea of what is going on in our minds. We had from the beginning of March to the end of May, so I knew this had to be big.

Reflection

I am still in awe of my work on this project. I truly surpassed my own expectations and I am so happy that I did. Testing out different mediums of art can be really frustrating, but it is always worth it.
