The Future

The future is a scary prospect. It is the unknown and is scary. But I always look forward to the future because its a chance for something new and beautiful. For instance, I can craft my own future and mold it to what I want. I am scared for the future especially as a senior but I cannot wait to experience it with my friends and loved ones. This photo I took was during the evening and was of a construction site. The machinery are making something, it maybe scary, frightening or just annoying but it can also be the start of something amazing.

Current Events

This theme is pretty self explanatory. I went to a museum and most of the exhibits were related to art pieces from the past. But one exhibit was to highlight more contemporary issues such as LGBT+ rights and current policing issues.

Creative Staging and Depth of Field

Here I chose to stage the photo of a knife. To isolate the knife against the wooden board, I modified the depth of field.

7 Deadly Sins

To display one of the seven deadly sins I reexamined a photo I took of my friend’s dog. The dog’s name was Minnie and she is displaying the sin of Sloth. She was lounging around all over the house and decided to just sit and sleep. I would like to think that in her dream she would be lounging as well.

Musical

This picture I took was something that reminded me of a musical. The crossroad and the people with the cars reminded me of a smaller version of ‘La La Land’. I can just imagine the music going off and the people dancing.

Viewpoint

For this photo challenge, it was viewpoint. I think viewpoints can mean a variety of things. But this photo was from my viewpoint, looking down at the houses and trees. The cool part was that there are mountains taller than the one I was on that were looking down at me from there viewpoint. All from different perspectives.

Film Noir

Film Noir was the challenge for this week. Here a photo of my friend helping another of my friends who had a splinter. The setting is not noir but I feel that the composition and setup is similar to how film noir is done. The BW color helps with that.

Work

We had to interpret work. I decided to interpret the lack of work, as these animals are relaxing free to do whatever they wish. A feeling I sometimes wish I had.

Color Theory

For this photo challenge, we were assigned to try and make a photo look like a still from a movie. I chose to make the water more blue in terms of lighting. I also darkened some shadows on the right side.

Storms

Storms. A force of nature that we do not experience often in California. This photo was a very quick snap from my phone during a particularity cold day. I think in California, we often see more interesting cloud formations that may signal storms than storms themselves. I imagine a scenario where these clouds were at war amongst each other to see who would be more destructive.
