About Me

I’m Justin Hung and I’m currently a student at Mountain View High School and Freestyle Academy. I’m very outgoing and energetic to the point where it can be chaotic at some times. Music, creative writing and building/creating new things are my favorite hobbies. I love eating food, especially anything that involves mushrooms or seaweed. Usually you can find me in my room looking over something I’m creating or on my computer writing up a storm or playing the latest pixel art style game.
Some of my core values in life are enjoyment, imagination, and free time. When I’m working on something, I would like to have some sort of enjoyment out of it because otherwise, I would drag the project out for extended periods of time because I didn’t find anything interesting or enjoyable from the project. Another core value is imagination where my mind likes to wander and think of different situations and then I use those new ideas and thoughts to create something. Lastly, one of my other core values is free time, I like to have some sort of balance between my work and my free time because sometime, during my free time, I would get a stroke of inspiration for something and I would use that inspiration to make a project.
Some stuff I like to do outside of school is playing video games. Especially video games that are in pixel art form because there is something about the 8-bit and 16-bit art style that just scratches that itch in my brain. Maybe it’s because of how simple it looks while being complex. Other than that, I also like to make model kits where I would put hours into painting it, putting decals and putting it together and taking it apart again. I also do Martial arts such as taekwondo and being the coach for my taekwondo competitive team. It is always fun and rewarding to see everyone on the team winning and performing well on the mats during competitions.
Overall, my expectations for myself as a Freestyle student is just to learn and do everything to the best of my ability. I just want to create things and make projects that represent who I am and I want to create them to the highest standards I have for myself. I also just want to learn how to do stuff such as using the Adobe program and the other program we use in Freestyle.
Something that I value being a freestyle student is that I can’t learn how to do this in my normal school. If I wanted to learn how to do all these cool and crazy things such as creating videos and creating this very website, I would have to learn this all in my own time. So freestyle has given me a very accessible way to learn how to do all these things with support from the community.
