INTRODUCTION

We are at the last project of the year which is our Zenith project. In this Zenith project, it is very similar to our exploration unit where we were given the freedom to do whatever our heart desires. For my final project here at Freestyle, I decided to do something fun. So I created the Freestyle trading card game, this is similar to other cards games like pokemon and magic the gathering. The cards and gameplay relate to Freestyle in both the character cards and how to play the game. The premise is to finish digital media assignments before everyone else. There are cards to help you get there faster. Below are some of my progress shots for this project.

After creating all of the cards and finally sending them to the print company, I started working on my slideshow and presentation. This included finding images and creating a funny and engaging presentation where I could show off my work. Linked below is my presentation that I gave to the class. I was super sick that day and I have literally don’t remember it fully so it was fun watching back on it.

After finishing EVERYTHING needed for this project, I then when and create a reflection of the zenith project where I went over the different things I did and what I wish I could have done. Just like that, I have arrived at our last project for design. The Zenith Project, the project with the most freedom to do whatever my heart desires. For this project I decided to make a Trading Card Game that was playable as a game about completing Digital Media Assignments as fast as possible. This is very relatable to most Freestyle students. I decided to not only make cards for playing the game but also some gallery cards of different people who wanted a card of themselves for this project. I had some of my friends and other classmates submit a form relating to their card and what they wanted on it. After getting everyone’s permission, I started working on the cards. This meant I had to figure out a color scheme for the different cards, I ended up making 7-8 different color schemes and then one main color scheme for the backing and also the other items cards. Once production of creating the cards had finished, I then went in and playtested the game in order to make sure that everything was balanced. This process made me realize how hard making a card game was because if I nerf one card, there would be another card that would be so overpowered that the game becomes unbalanced. After playtesting I had a company print the cards which took longer than expected due to some crazy circumstances, but eventually it arrived and it looked really good. 
	Overall, this project in general was so much fun to do and allowed me so much freedom is what I could do for this project. I had the time and skills in order to complete this project in a timely manner where I was able to fix mistakes without needing to set back too much. I had a lot of fun creating the different moves and abilities that everyone had and it was so much fun playing the actual game with my friends. My only regret was that I felt like I could have made more cards if I was able to playtest and balance quicker. Currently the game has 45 different cards in its entirety. Most TCG have at least 90-200 cards per set. This means that I was about half the size of even the smallest TCG card sets. But who knows, maybe the second expansion pack might be around the corner…
