Hi! I am Karna. This is my Self-Portrait website. I am a Junior at Los Altos High School and a student at Freestyle Academy. I am a very versatile person who is proficient at many things. I played quarterback on the school football team, taught myself how to play guitar and also have been a veteran Karate student with over ten years of experience. Although I am not a prodigy in any of these things, I pride myself in being good at all of them. I feel like these skills allow me to reach out and befriend many different types of people.
      I made the background of the website in Adobe Illustrator by using the symbol tools to build the airplanes and the pen tool to make the clouds. This represents who I am because I enjoy boyish things like cars and airplanes, so this represents how childish I can be. I recorded the background music after noodling around on my Fender Stratocaster for a while. This represents who I am because it is quiet, but still intriguing. I like to think of it as ominous. The guys in my band think that the rhythm guitar part is cool because of how well it flows. I played the solo as it came to me while recording, so I honestly can’t say it represents anything but creativity.
   On my website are the projects that I did in classes such as English and Design. These projects are my diptych, illustration, media piece, personal poem, and my essay.
   I used Adobe Illustrator to make my buttons and used a double image sprite to make it look as if the plane was flying when someone hovers their mouse over them. I used Garageband and Pro Tools to record the music and the audio that can be heard on every page. I used Dreamweaver to make the website. On each page, I used a template that I created and then changed the content so that the bottoms and the background stayed uniform.

Personal Poem

This project was to create a poem based on an image and use metaphors to convey the meaning of the peom. We modified this in Web/Audio by putting a background to the poem and stylizing it so that it would look nice on a website.
