10 Things I Have Learned So Far

For this assignment, we had to make the list of the 10 things we have learned so far in life into a podcast slideshow. This related to the question 'Who am I?' because my experiences define the way I view things in the outside world.

  1. I can only create an original piece if I rely on older examples for guidance.
  2. Knowing why things work is always more helpful than knowing how they work.
  3. Its easy to break things while attempting to fix them.
  4. Learn to accept criticism.
  5. First impressions are always the most important.
  6. Negativity rubs off on those around you.
  7. Be open to learning everything; you never know when you might need the knowledge.
  8. Don’t try forcing yourself to like something just because other people like it.
  9. Taking responsibility for your actions shows character.
  10. Reading cures restlessness.

For this project, I used Adobe Flash to string together pictures that I found on the internet along with sound that I created. I put each separate image and sound on induvidual layers on each slide. The only exception to this is my background music which plays all of the way through.

Media Piece

For this assignment, we were supposed to find a symbol that represented our personal statement and juxtapose the two together. This helps answer the question 'Who am I?' because it shows the way I attempt to convey my beliefs by using symbols instead of words.
