Podcasts

Podcasting is a very effective way to communicate and appeal to different audiences. I like that you can change the tone of the podcast depending on the topic and how you want to set the mood. Some of my inspiration for this podcast was an article that I happened to find online about memory changing. I wanted to make my podcast about my main interests, but focus more specifically on one more detailed subject. This made me think back to personal life experiences where I had felt like my memory was deceiving me, and made me want to learn more about how this works.

About this Podcast

Ever remembered something differently from a friend? Changed a story a little to impress someone else? This podcast will tell you all about why we remember things differently, and how our memories change over time.

Podcaster Bio

I’m Kate Ahrens, and I am a senior at Freestyle Academy. I am interested in studying psychology and applying this to many different environments. I’m currently involved with an internship that combines social media and psychology to help families learn to be safer online. I am very excited that I get to move these personal interests into a podcast and teach people a little bit more about what I have learned.

Reflection

I had a lot of trouble coming up with the idea for my podcast, because I attempted many but did not actually feel very excited about them. I think that this project helped me to grow because I decided to make it all on my own, which I usually haven’t done with similar projects in the past. I’ll take away the creative skills I’ve learned in this project and apply it to others, such as my zenith. My advice for future podcasters would be to choose a topic you feel passionate about and to plan out well ahead of time.
