Below is my narrative illustration produced in design. To produce this, we took our photo dyptich from earlier in the semester and created an illustration that would convey the same point as our dyptich, but in one complete image instead of two separate photographs.

The left half of the illustration depicts a blossoming rose being pruned and pampered by the several hands surrounding it. This represents a child who has been overindulged throughout her upbringing, the people around her catering to her every need. One of the rose’s branches rests upon a fortune teller’s crystal ball, in which the fate of the rosebud is shown. The flower is dead, being held by the same hands that raised her- this time in black gloves. The hands have a defeated look about them, as if the acknowledge that their constant pampering led to their child’s lack of success out in the real world, where her every desire would not be simply handed to her as she had grown to expect.
