Introduction
Hi! My name is Kylie Outten and I am a student at Freestyle Academy with a focus in film. Before Freestyle, I had never thought about trying filmmaking, but joining was one of the best decisions I could make. My creativity has been brought to the surface in ways I never thought possible.
Outside of Freestyle, I love to paint, go to concerts, and hang out with my family. Thank you so much for reviewing my work and I hope you enjoy.

Reflection
Throughout my time at Freestyle, I have grown in my film technique and ability to problem solve. I have furthered my skills in paying attention to detail and expanding my knowledge on storytelling. One of the greatest benefits of Freestyle was bringing back creativity that I had lost. In a competitive high school environment full of rubrics and exams, creativity can be difficult to latch onto, but Freestyle was a way I could think more freely.
My narrative film tested my ability to plan ahead and stay organized. The lightheartedness of the story was exactly what I was going for which I am happy about. For my documentary, working with the parents and staff was an incredibly eye opening experience. I wanted to being this community into the spotlight. This project was important to me because I work with the students in the video (Gabe, Elise, and Iasmim) as a teacher’s assistant in the special education class at Mountain View High School.
While I’m not totally sure where my future will take me, I am hoping art will be a part of it so I can continue to develop my technical and creative skills.
