Narrative Visual Perspective in Design

Introduction

Design has always been a fantastic class that has opened up a lot of doors for me, both in terms of the projects we work on in class and the tools and knowledge we acquire. Each endeavor requires effort and care. The projects I completed for this unit were all very fascinating because they challenged my creativity and allowed me to focus on every last detail. Initially, there was a theatrical poster. A particular method had to be used to create the movie poster. Different text formatting options were provided, but we were given the freedom to develop our own project and drawings. The book cover was the following task. Although we had more room, we were able to add more drawings to what we did for the movie poster. The book cover, in my opinion, was more challenging than the movie poster because each book cover had to be customized for the specific dimensions of the book.

My moodboard and my final project are very different and that is because I had a very different idea of what I wanted to make in the beginning and I changed my view and what I wanted to do at the very last minute.

Reflection

I spent a lot of time creating all the various elements for these projects. I like that these projects are very distinct from one another even though they both deal with the same story but do so in very different ways. I really like how understated my book cover is, and I made sure to use a lot of color to draw attention to various aspects of my project. I adore my movie poster’s roughness and redness, which convey the horror of my tale as well. This offers me and others new perspectives on the tale.
