The music recording project asked us to contact musicians and record using the studio here at Freestyle Academy. We learned how to use equiptment in the booth and teach our musicians how to navigate the equitment that they used. Afterwards we edited in Pro Tools and created a cover in Illustrator.
The musicians I used was Landon and Jocelyn. Landon played the acoustic guitar and bass while Jocelyn did vocals.

For this project we were asked to create music, but instead of being the one in the booth, this time we were the ones recording someone else. I decided that I wanted to record with Landon and Joceyln and we came to the conclusion of playing When Will My Life Begin. Landon played guitar and bass while Jocelyn sang. The process was getting all of us together into the studio before learning how to use the equipment. After learning how to use the equipment I taught Landon and Jocelyn how to use the headphones before recording. After recording I created the cover art in Illustrator and edited the volume in Pro Tools.
A lot of the things I did for this project were skills that I had previously learned and it was fun to brush up on them. The only thing I learned was how to use the equipment in the recording studio, which can be overwhelming because there’s so much different things in the room. This project was a lot of fun and I learned how to use the recording equipment as well as make music with my friends. I look forward to being able to record again sometime soon.
Overall I really enjoyed this project and trying something new. I’m really thankful for my friends who lended me their talent for me to record. This taught me new skills that I’ve been wanting to learn and hopefully some that I can use again in the near future.
