Funny Images

We created the funny image composition in preperation for the surreal image composition. For the funny image composition we had to put together one with two images and other with three images using Photoshop. I was slightly familiar from doing a similar project in Design and so this project wasn’t too hard for me.

Creating the funny images was a quick and fun asignment that allowed me to practice using Photoshop. It was fun collaborating with other students on this asignment and seeing what other people would want to see. For example, I asked for advice from my other classmates on what to do for the 3 image composition.

Motion Graphics

In the end of the first semester we learned how to use After Effects, which was a totally new platform to me at the time. It was super intimidating to use because I was completely unfamiliar with the application and all of tools were so strange to me. But after this assignment I’ve grown more comfortable with using After Effects and it’s now another tool thatI can use. We went throught multiple beginner tutorials before we gained the skills to make this final video.

Creating simple motion graphics helped me gain some confidence with After Effects and the basic skills to use it again later in future assignments. After Effects is a really cool tool that I use frequently now and has many usages that help elevate videos that I make.

Multi-Layered Art Project

The multi-layered art project was one of the bigger projects that we’ve done in Digital Media. I chose to use Illustrator and create and layered wood art piece. The piece is inspired by the capital city in our post-nuclear disaster world, Lisant. It shows the grandeur of the city but the broken window in the middle reveals a crack. I created the art in Illustrator, creating mutliple layers, before having it printed onto the wood pieces, spray painted, and assembled it. Along with that I created a 3d assembly video that demonstrated the process and the intricacies of the work that I’d done.
