The following is a motion photo in which I used the rule of thirds. It is my brother throwing a basketball in our backyard. I had him stand in the left corner to draw more attention and used a faster shutter speed to ensure that the basketball in motion was not blurry as it flew across the sky. The first couple of of times I took it I had to rearrange placement because putting him in the center drew more attention to the background and it also gave the ball more room to be captured in motion. I also had a had a more normal shutter speed which made the movement in the photo blurry. After a few adjustments I was able to compose a better photo in which both the subject (my brother) and his love for sports was portrayed most effectively.
