Zenith

The Zenith Project is our final big creative piece at Freestyle. It’s meant to show everything we’ve learned and how we’ve grown as artists, storytellers, and creators. It’s called “Zenith” because that word means the highest point, and the idea is that this should be the peak of our work here. But beyond that, it’s also about taking a risk and challenging ourselves to create something that feels meaningful and personal.

For my Zenith, I’m made a split screen love story about a boy who forgets it’s Valentine’s Day. On one side of the screen, we follow the girl’s day as she gets ready and looks forward to seeing him. On the other side, we watch the boy chaotically attempt to pull something together very last minute. This project is exciting to me because it gives me the chance to explore relationships and miscommunication in a way that’s both creative and meaningful. I like the idea of using the split screen to show how two people can be so close but experiencing totally different realities. It’s something a lot of people can relate to, and I want to find that balance between humor, heart, and meaning.
