Introduction
Hi, I’m planning to study film in college, with a focus on editing. I’m drawn to the way editors shape emotion, tone, and meaning through rhythm and timing. While editing is my main passion, I also write for fun, and this is one of those pieces I just had to get out of my head and onto the page.
Reflection
ByAll is a short story about justice, violence, and friendship in a world where law enforcement is outsourced to an app. I wrote it just for myself, not for class, but the process helped me grow creatively. It deepened my understanding of narrative pacing and emotional impact, which directly influences how I approach editing.
Freestyle didn’t shape the kind of content I make, but it gave me something else: a space to meet people who care about creative work the same way I do. It’s been valuable to talk ideas out loud, get feedback, and just be around others who take storytelling seriously.
