The Waldorf School of the Peninsula

The Documentary unit is the third unit we have done in our Junior year at Freestyle. This unit has been more challenging than the last two, mainly because it required interaction with adults and stepping out of my comfort zone.

We began in English, picking topics. I decided to make my documentary about the Waldorf School of the Peninsula because it was close to home, and it interested me. We spent the next few weeks writing our research papers. You can read my paper if you click on the "Paper" link at the top.

Next, we started taking pictures for Design, and began the next major project, the documentary book. We learned how to use Adobe InDesign to create books, which was not as difficult as I imagined. For about two weeks, we worked on producing these books using our photos and our paper. You can see a digital version of mine under the "Book" link.

For Web/Audio, we made audio slideshows in Flash. We learned how to actionscript, which was a painful process. After hundreds of lines of code, we had our slideshows set up. You can watch mine if you click on the "Documentary" link at the top. After the slideshow, we made our Documentary websites.

I hope you enjoy looking through what I have been working on for the past few months, because it has been a lot of work. Have fun!
